I am delighted, and very proud, to be the Headteacher at the City of Derby Academy. Students are at the heart of everything we do and we aim to provide all students with an engaging and enjoyable learning experience which will develop both academic and personal success.

6 R’s Project
Year 10 students have recently taken part in a mini project. The project was based on the 6 ‘R’s; recycle, reuse, rethink, refuse, repair and reduce. Students were tasked to bring in used cans and using a pin tool, punched holes into the can whilst following the printed design. Finally, they secured battery operated flickering tea-lights inside to give them a candle effect.
Students were fully engaged and really enjoyed seeing their end results. I think they look great. Well done!
Ramadan Mubarak CODA!
If you are fasting and need a quiet place to rest during lunchtime – feel free to come to E13 (computer room). The room will be open every lunchtime during the month of Ramadan.
Look what has arrived!
