Service of Remembrance
This morning, cadets from the City Of Derby Academy Combined Cadet Force (CCF) took part in a poignant Service of Remembrance at the Midland Railway War Memorial at Derby Railway Station. This memorial honours the members of the Midland Railway from Derby who served and died in the First World War.
Our cadets represented the Academy and CCF with pride and respect as they joined members of the local community and Railway Industry to pay tribute to the fallen. During the service, they read moving poems, laid wreaths – including a one handmade by pupils at the school, and stood in solemn reflection as they observed the two-minute silence at 11am.
We are incredibly proud of their conduct and the way they upheld the values of remembrance and respect on this important day.
Lest We Forget
