For admission to year 7, in the year preceding admissions, parents should apply using Derby City Council’s Admission process. For admission in September 2018, these forms can be accessed online from early September 2017. All forms must be returned to Derby City Council by midday on 31st October 2017.

There is a right to appeal to an independent Appeals Panel for unsuccessful applicants relating to admissions at the age of 11 and above. Appeals should be made within 20 school days of the date of refusal and should be addressed to the City of Derby Academy, clearly marking the envelope ‘Admissions Appeals’. At present we have a designated catchment area. We would consult with the Local Authority, other schools and the local community before taking a decision on an appeal.
