Non-Uniform Day – Friday 26th October

Wednesday 24th October 2018

This half term we have had a school initiative to significantly decrease the amount of litter on our school site. The reward for the students if this was achieved was a non-school uniform day at a cost of £1, which will be donated to the students’ charities. All years are supporting different charities.

We are really pleased to let you know that students have made continued efforts to keep our site litter free and so they will be rewarded with a non-school uniform day this Friday 26th October.

Students are expected to dress appropriately, no short skirts or crop tops etc. Students will be expected to bring their school bag and equipment/PE kits and in all other aspects the day will run as normal.

Ensuring safety in our school

At the City of Derby Academy we take safeguarding and safety very seriously. It is important that we continue to review all our procedures, taking into account even those events that are very unlikely to occur. As part of this process, we have introduced a new procedure called “lockdown”.

I am writing to inform you that we will be practicing this procedure on Wednesday 24th October.
